Relationship 101: How to Get Over a Breakup

 
We all go through breakups at a point in life. Sure breakups hurt like hell but it doesn’t mean it’s the end of life. We get into relationships with the hope of getting something beautiful from it, some prosper some don’t.

Relationships in this era have become the most complicated call them situation-ships. One of the biggest advice iv’e ever heard is ‘a broken relationship is better than any broken marriage. Don’t get pressured to settle down with someone you know you cannot handle for the rest of your life especially with the rise in cases of infidelity and physical abuse.
Going through a breakup? Here are ways of healing and getting back up.
  1. Cry it out
    It’s okay to cry it out just don’t spend months over nothing. Cry all you want, lock yourself in a room and cry out the frustrations but make sure that you never cry yourself silly over spilt milk. A month of crying is allowed lol
  2. Go Out With Friends/ Find Something to do
    Hang out with friends more, plan hikes, camping trips, go sing your heart out during a Karaoke night anything to get your spirits up. Doing something exciting will help you forget about the breakup and who knows, you might meet someone else out there.
  3. Raise your standards
    Now you know what you want ans how you want to be treated by the person you love. Find a person who treats you better than your ex and who loves you a little bit more. Don’t settle for less, don’t settle for the same type of person your ex was.
  4. Forgive him/her
    There’s nothing worse than holding grudges when you can easily forgive and forget. No need to talk about your ex to friends or family yet you two loved each other at some point. Just knowledge the fact that you guys were never meant to be and move on. If possible you two can even be good friends if you want.
  5. Meet someone new
    Meeting someone new does not necessarily mean that you start dating immediately. You can kick off a great friendship which later may escalate to something better. Also, say no to rebounds they may sound fun but in the end you’ll be hurting yourself more.
